How do I ensure the digital asset(s) in my wallet are safe and protected?

To ensure your wallet is safe and protected, users should be wary and cautious when it comes to disclosing information to unknown people. Do note that Zilliqa’s marketplace will never ask you for your account information.

  1. Never share your secret recovery phrase of your ZilPay account to users.
    Wallet secret recovery phrase is private and should never be shared, even with those you trust. Zilliqa’s marketplace uses a non-custodial wallet provider and will never ask for your wallet’s secret recovery phrase.

  2. Make sure the ZilPay app or extension is downloaded from official stores.
    When downloading a wallet browader extension, make sure that the link is directly for the provider’s website. When downloading an app, check on the developer information to ensure that the source is the authentic one.

  3. Never click on unknown or broken links
    When interacting with other social media or online channels, avoid clicking on ads, images or links sent by strangers. This includes emails, files and QR codes sent by strangers. Attachments sent from them may contain harmful viruses or malware.

  4. Never reuse passwords
    When setting up a password, avoid reusing the same password across multiple accounts making it vulnerable to hackers.

  5. Use a password manager
    Use a password generator or manager such as 1Password to save hard-to-crack special characters password.

  6. Use a crypto hardware wallet
    Using a hardware wallet such as Leger adds another layer of security for funds and digital assets.

  7. Limit smart contract approvals
    Frequently review your spending limit when approving transactions and customize the spend limit for each currency.
